This is my honest review of Dave Sharpe’s Legendary Marketer. Now, before I dive in, you should know that I am an affiliate of Legendary Marketer, meaning I promote Legendary Marketer products like the 15-Day Business Builder Challenge. And if you were to purchase the 15-Day Business Builder Challenge through my affiliate link, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Unless you have been living under a rock, if you have been on TikTok for any length of time, you probably have run into someone promoting affiliate marketing and the 15-Day Business Builder Challenge. That person is likely an affiliate for Legendary Marketer, although there are other courses out there. And that person is likely an affiliate for Legendary Marketer for a very specific reason, which I will get into in a moment. You may have Googled the 15-Day Business Builder Challenge, hoping to get information, and you may have even clicked on someone’s link and given someone your email address, in which case, you’ve been getting emails. And there is a LOT of information out there, including reviews like this one. I’m not trying to add to the noise. But, hopefully, you will find the answers you are looking for in this honest review of Legendary Marketer.
Now if you are an affiliate of Legendary Marketer, then this review is probably not for you. However, if you have your credit card out and are about to purchase the 15-Day-Business-Builder Challenge, OR, if you purchased the Challenge and on day 4 or 5 and you are contemplating purchasing the Business Blueprint Bundle, then this review may help to give you clarity on why, or why not, you should join Legendary Marketer as a customer, and then as an affiliate to promote Legendary Marketer’s products.
OK, let’s talk about the great, and not-so-great stuff about Legendary Marketer.
What’s not-so-great about Legendary Marketer
- The 15-Day Business Builder Challenge. People who promote the Challenge will say it’s a course that will teach you “everything you need to know about affiliate marketing.” Heck, I’ve even done it myself. But THAT IS NOT TRUE. The 15-Day Business Builder Challenge is NOT a course about affiliate marketing. It’s a course about starting an online business. Period. Yes, you get a DFY funnel to promote the challenge, but it doesn’t TEACH you about affiliate marketing. To learn that, you’ll have to take another course.
- It looks like an MLM company It has a bad reputation as being a multi-level marketing or pyramid scheme, and from the outside, it may appear that way. Folks promoting Legendary products are promoting the course, and those who purchase the product through that affiliate may choose to also promote the course, and so on. And yes, the guy at the top, Dave Sharpe, is making a boatload of money from his affiliate army promoting the Challenge. But unlike an MLM, the person whose affiliate link I clicked on doesn’t get a percentage of my sales. And I don’t get a percentage of the sales from ANYONE who clicked on my affiliate link. What’s more, if you go through the challenge and decide to promote the Challenge, then that is YOUR decision. In an MLM, you have to promote the products. In Legendary, you don’t have to promote any of the products if you don’t want to, and you can still make money.
- Pay to play: You have to pay $30.00 a month to promote Legendary if you want to make the full commission on products you promote. It’s not a lot, granted. But you have to pay and that sometimes can be irritating. But you do get the higher commission, which honestly can be worth hundreds of dollars, and you also get other benefits with the Pro program. So, I think it’s worth it.
UPDATE: As of June 2022, Legendary Marketer has done away with its “pay-to-play” program that charged affiliates $30 to promote additional affiliate products and to receive the full 30-40% commission on its products. Now, everyone is able to promote additional affiliate products in Legendary’s back office and earn the full amount of commissions. And no, if you’ve been paying the fee all along, you will not receive a refund on what you’ve already paid.
- The Blueprints. Yeah, you’ve heard about the Blueprints. This is the course you take in Legendary, which you will be offered at Day 5 of the Challenge, that will teach you affiliate marketing. They’re pricey at $2500, and there is no payment program like other HT affiliate offers. There are less expensive programs out there, that will basically teach you the same thing. And there is no 1:1 training, you’re basically on your own to finish the course, and in order to make the $2500 back, you almost feel like you are obligated to promote the challenge. However, there are a lot of benefits, and a very compelling reason to purchase the Blueprints, which I’ll get to in a minute. But yeah, did I mention they’re pricey? Now you don’t have to purchase them, but you will be told that you must buy them within a short window, or the extraordinary offer you’re given will disappear. A lot of people feel they have to buy them if they want to be successful in affiliate marketing. And that’s just not true.
And, here’s what GREAT about Legendary Marketer
- The Commissions: People who become Legendary affiliates have the potential to make thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in commissions within a relatively short period of time. This value ladder converts like crazy. My own conversion rate for the HT items is 15%. That’s like, unheard of. If you’re a pro affiliate you will make 30 to 40% on Legendary products and they are of exceptionally high quality.
- High-quality products: This brings me to the next good point. Legendary’s products are high-value. When I first got started last March with the Challenge, I was blown away by what I’d learned and the quality of the curriculum. I’m a teacher, so I know good curriculum. I was so impressed with the Challenge that I didn’t really hesitate to purchase the Blueprints, pricey as they were. And I continue to receive value. Matt Heltzel’s Thursday afternoon webinars are badass, which you can only get if you purchase the Business Blueprints. I’ve learned stuff there that I’ve been amazed at, it has literally been instrumental in my success on TikTok.
- Training: The training you will receive is top-notch. And if you purchase the Business Blueprints Starter Bundle, you get a ton of value: 4 Core Business Models – Affiliate Marketing, Digital Products, Coaching and Consulting, and Masterminds – as well as the Thursday Webinars, the day-long Decade in a Day, YouTube Traffic Secrets, The Million Dollar Mindset and so much more.
- Sales Team: You don’t have to close your own High-Ticket sales. Legendary has an amazing sales team that does all of that for you. All you have to do is sell the Challenge. That’s it. In fact, you don’t even have to do that, just send folks to Legendary and they take care of the rest. It’s kind of a lazy man’s style of affiliate marketing, that has the potential for huge profits.
- Customer Service: They have phenomenal support, customer service, and three levels of Facebook communities that offer unbelievable value. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of sharks looking for newbies, so you’d be wise to steer clear of anyone offering unsolicited advice.
- Payouts/Paydays: They pay out every Friday. As long as you have at least $20.00 in your eWallet ready to pay, you will get a commission check every week.
- The Cookie Duration: In digital marketing speak, a cookie is a small line of code that is placed on a customer’s computer the first time the customer “hits” or clicks on an affiliate’s link and goes to the partner’s website. That is partly so the customer can be recognized the next time they return to the website, as a way of building the relationship with the customer, but also so the customer is associated with the affiliate. In most instances, the cookie will expire after a set period of time. However, for the affiliate, the longer the duration of the cookie, the more of a chance there is that if the customer actually makes a purchase the affiliate will get a commission. Legendary Marketer’s cookie duration is a lifetime cookie, so that as long as an affiliate remains an affiliate of Legendary Marketer’s, if a customer clicks on their link first, no matter when the customer makes the purchase, the affiliate will make the commission. This is advantageous for the affiliate in several ways:
- The affiliate will get the commission even if the customer buys through someone else’s link
- The customer may continue to purchase products after the initial purchase and the affiliate will continue to receive the commissions no matter how much time has passed.
- Flexibility: Perhaps the best thing about Legendary Marketer’s products is that you are largely free to promote them however you’d like. They only ask that you don’t show your back-office earnings, for obvious reasons (I question why anyone would want to show that anyway), but that’s about it. You can also collect your own leads, market other products in your niche, and promote on any platform.
The Bottom Line
The bottom line is, Legendary Marketer offers high-value, high-ticket digital products that are easy to promote, earn substantial commissions, and have the potential to make their affiliates a LOT of money. It also has a flexible and robust affiliate program that almost anyone can make money with as long as you remain diligent, consistent, and disciplined in your marketing approach and implement the training with fidelity.
For that reason, despite the drawbacks I listed in the beginning of this post, I recommend Legendary Marketer’s 15-Day-Business-Builder Challenge as a great place to get started in establishing and building your own online freelance digital marketing business.
